Just a point of interest, has anyone tried running 4 small single strombergs, ala xu1 torana? or how about four carbies rated to 250cc's each, off of say, a suzuki roadbike?or somethig similar?
was thinking about a future project gem, say within the next 5 years, and wanted something different, and that was around when the car was built, wanna go for the period ya see...
just wondering. [this is not for practical driving either, just something i can work on and not have to drive as well]. any ideas anyone? has anyone been bothered to try this?
just a thought.

I have heard of poeple running 4 throttle bodies ( fuel injected) from motorbikes on 2L pinto (escort) and some other cars. apparently worked very well. I would assume that bike carbs would be similar, just remember that bikes rev a lot harder than cars, and all the messing around you might have to do the get it all to 1. fit 2. work together |

It works for motorcycles for sure, but what you have with twin side-draught Webers is almost the same thing anyways. Each inlet tract has a butterfly and throat, so you can consider those 4 individual throttle bodies.
For the expense of 4 separate carbs etc you would be better of turboing or supercharging. |
