The old v6-into-gem thing

I was wondering if anyone could clear some stuff up for me. I've looked through the forum for stuff about a commo v6 conversion, and I read something about the size of an engine you can put in a car being restricted to no more than 3 times its weight (ie gem=950kg, max size=2850cc). Now does this apply nationwide? If so how come rod hadfield can register a 27,000cc engined chev that weighs 3500 kg? I live in SA so any relevant info would be much appreciated.

One other thing, anyone who's had experience with the whole v6 conversion thing, was any firewall modification or chassis reinforcement neccesary?

i dare say it would have been classed (in nsw at least) as an ICV (induvidually constructed vehicle)

IVC is avalable in every state. but u will spend more on engineering then u will on the conversion.

u will need to streghten the chassis, (well add one LOLOLOL)
u dont HAVE to

theres a v6 gemini in brissy. (a few) one i know hos put it in no cuting and no chassis. (but its not legal cos its a "g160")

the only chassis stuff you need to do is raise the tunnel so you can fit the new gear box in.

gemini dont have a chassis. legally u will have to add a 3/4 chassis
