New 12V Coil?!

OK so, i can get a 12V sports coil (for free), for my stock 79 TD, (is it a 7 volt coil in there now???). Would putting this coil in do anything much, and should i upgrade anything else with it. I really got no idea so any ifo would be awesome. Thnx

You're best sticking with the standard resistor type coil or you will burn your points out a lot faster.
