Turbo engines need a different exhaust system (larger) than na ones.....id suggest you would go close to 3 inch for sure..... na engines go on max back pressure whereas turbos spit it out the exhaust. and a lil 1 inch exhaust would not do a turbo engine andy justice....i agree with bigpowa

theoretically, wouldn't a n/a engine go better without an exhaust at all ?

Going by the theory of engines need good airflow to perform. An exhaust system restricts flow to an extent no matter what.

So if there is no exhaust then you have maximum output and minimum resistance. Hence, more air out = more air goes in the intake and subsequently more power.

your a knob mate. no shit a 3" is good. the fast u get the exhaust away from the turbo the better. i have 3.5" so i must be cooler than you Very Happy

but tuned length extractors are timed so the when one out let opens the rush of the previous puff goes passed causeing a vacume and sucking the air out of the chamber

Thats why I laugh @ people with Rice exausts and stock motors.
