| I have purchased a five speed and it is the same length as my 4 speed just slight diff in the rear mount...I thought I read on the site that a shorter tailshaft will be needed to install the box..Is this correct??I have a TD sedan...Thirsty |

no u dont need a different tailshaft
and wat do u mena it has a different mount up? |

Only difference is fine spline and course spline output shafts in some boxes. The right tailshaft has to with the right spline.

From the bell housing to the rear mount holes is 645mm on both boxes...I was confused by the difference in the other mount holes in the box sort of under the shifter. 4 speed is 565mm and 5 speed is 535mm.... doesn't help if car and gearboxes are at different locations at the moment. I realised the rear mount is the only one being used anyway.

The mounting plate for the 4 speed and the 5 speed are also different, I just finished the conversion
