Pardon my ignorance when it comes to turbocharged shit boxes, as I have only worked on newer cars.
Could sombody please explain suck through turbo setups, aplications, benifits, limitations. Just curious.

a draw through setup is where the throttle body or carby is positioned before the turbo. limitations to this setup are that you cannot run an intercooler which means higher temperature air/fuel mixtures enter the engine, with increased possibility of detonation, sometimes you can use water/ methonol injection to combat this.
blow through is where the carby is after the turbo, this means you can run an intercooler, but you have to invest in a seal kit for the carby to withstand the boost pressure. otherwise u will blow all the seals apart and leak feul everywhere.
generally both setups are less effective and run rougher than the fuel injected later model cars you work on.
there will be flat spots all through the rev range.

if it were me i would run a blow threw so u can run a intercooler and BOV (plumb back of couse!!) to keep intak air cooler and save ya turbo _________________

only require plumb back for efi =] from my understanding. why plumb back on carby set up?not like you have counted air. |

plumb back anything. why? cos the atmo (normal) BOV sounds gay and is "fully wank factor" _________________
