tech question

hi all,
just wondering if anyone here has put together a g series turbo motor...any words of advise? What pistons were used, what bore size did u go for, manifolds, turbo selection, etc. Any info would be much appreciated, thanks.

g161 block, 2L crank, custom manifold, piazza injection, bored 0.120", forgies, bigger valves, lots of headwork, etc

ur stupid loz, the 2 ltr crank has a 3mm longer stroke than a 1600, and would make the pistons hit the cyl head if u put it in a 1600 block. boringin it .120 takes the bore out to 20 thou over an 1800 so just get a 1800 block to start with. if ur just suggesting using a 1600 to avoid the mod plate hassels then u shouldn't even think about a turbo conversion unless u do it properly.

well seeing as you asked, I have custom argo rods and bolts. Shorter rods will rev quicker. And you can make as much useable street power with a 1600 as an 1800 or 2L.

Dont think mine hasnt been done properly, all engineered, and no questions asked. I wouldnt do anything to my car if it wasnt proper, too much money invested now.

where did u get the rods and how much were they ?, its the crank that determines how fast the engine will rev as it controls the stroke of the piston, rod length only affects the compression

Thats true, i just was tired and wrote the wrong thing.

They were built by argo in Newcastle?? and cost way too much as it was only the second set made for a gemini.
