like any conversion thats going from carby fed to EFI, youl need to uprgrade all your fuel lines, and install a surge tank, umm, it is a drop in proceidure in terms of lining up of engine mounts and your gearbox, altho, while everythings out if be adding a heavy duty clutch, and maybe shave the flywheel while your at it, (for wat it costs, its well worth is) if you get a package, or front cut, make sure the computer comes with it, otherwise expect to pay 900-1000$ to get one fitted, id also make sure your radiator, diff center, all hoses/lines be either fully checked, if not replaced!! as youl be dealing with more than double the factory power.
the stock 2.6 ltr efi izuzu donks push 90/102kw i think..
Thats all thats really involved from memory!!
Hope this helps

Ben

You will need to either modify the distributor (blank it off and set the engine up to run off a crank and/or cam angle sensor) or relocate your brake booster, as the distributor juts out from the back of the driver's side of the head.

Definitely get the flywheel lightened as much as possible, with the massive amounts of torque available from the 4ZE1 due to its small bore to stroke ratio (92.6mm bore:95mm stroke), driveability should not be adversely affected.

Due to its commercial vehicle origins the 4ZE1 runs an extremely low static compression ratio of 8.3:1, so it would be worthwhile having the head shaved, and if you are going to have the head shaved, why not port it at the same time?

Also the camshaft profile of the 4ZE1 is strictly commercial vehicle fare, meaning it is designed to create maximum torque at minimum RPM, hardly what you will want in a light, chuckable and generally fun car like a gemini, so consult your local camshaft experts (Brisbane: Ivan Tighe Engineering, 38444283 tell them you saw them on Hotgemini.com!!!) about a camshaft designed to make POWER, and make it somewhat higher in the rev range than the stock torquey cam.

You will need to fit two fuel pumps(low and high pressure), two fuel filters(low and high pressure), a surge tank and high pressure fuel lines (the rodeo motor runs approx. 240-290kpa fuel pressure).

If you relocate the battery to the boot you could even try and run the factory rodeo airbox, but this wouldn't be a particularly wise move if you consider a rodeo air filter costs around $60.

You will also need a larger radiator, preferably set up with an overflow recovery system. I am not sure how well the sump will fit, this may require some custom fabrication work, but then again, it might not.

If you use the Diesel crossmember you'll find the sump fits with no problems.
