i got the new motor running again today (after having 2Xrow chain etc. fixed) and it idles ok (very lumpy coz of cam ) but it doesnt like the accelerator pedal!! it just missed like a bitch and sorta dies. timing is at about 6 degrees, had a fiddle with mixture, i think the plugs are right but yeah its not drivable Sad

another thing is i noticed the tacho needle jumps around a bit when it misses, does this mean its the coil or wiring or something??

PS. its a worked g180

also does anyone know a REALLY GOOD mobile mechanic? someone who knows their shit (unlike most) brisbane area? i know its a contradiction in terms but its worth a try

thanx matt

sounds like your carb isn't working properly, check that the accelerator pump is squirting fuel properly.

it squirts fuel fine , out of both sides (if you mean when you pump it) but i cant push the pedal down more than 10mm or it starts missing real bad

could the cam not be timed properly maybe?

Sounds like an ignition prob?

i dunno, sounds to ballistic for my knowledge

yeah the revs will climb - slowly (with alot of missing) but then when you let the acc off it will usually stall

Is it running too rich maybe ?

Try upgrading your coil to a bosch gt40 one to give the spark more guts.

Just an idea.
