just got my motor back today. its a g180 been bored to a 2 litre. has 2l jackeroo forged pistons. shaved 50 thou. ported n polished, double valve springs. blue printed, balanced. Double row timing chain, new gaskets, filters and pumps. lightened flywheel and heavy duty rpm clutch.
I've got a stage 3 cam and twin 40mm downdrafts but not allowed to put on until the engine has been worn in.
How long do u guys reckon it'll take to wear it in and when the webbers and cam are in how do u think it will perform?

hey you are in the same position as im in! i just got my g180 stroked to 2l balanced, ported, 35/75 cam, 9.7:1 comp bla, bla, bla but have to use my 32/36 til its run in.
i was told run it in til 1000ks, dont rev above 3500 dont let it get hot, change oil and filter after 500ks, only use strongish concentrate coolant, and shit oil to begin with but good oil after initial oil/filter change
hope that helps |
