Hi,
In ragards to the rubber support/surround of the torque tube. I Know they shouldnt break but they keep doing it.. I and sick of changing them over because without a decent car stand it is beyond painful each time. Could u please chase up a way to fix this problem for me once and for all. The rubber in most I guess is just old but surely there is a way to make it better.

have you tried a brand new rubber from GMH. About $120.
i'm running in my turbo car and doesn't look like breaking.

my brother had a turbo gem, it used to rip those things up, so he made a kind of metal bush assembly to take the place of the rubber cusion, the shaft was just held completly rigid and it wprked like a dream, i dont know what the long term effects of doing this is tho, as the car was written off not long after

i wouldnt do it, I rekon the rubber is there to stop the car vabrating from the tailshaft and torque tube movement, might get a bit noisy...

I cannot see a car getting engineered with it being metal, as it needs to flex when the diff moves up and down, try making one out of pollyurothane, like those red, blue and yellow suspension bushes, these are a few places that stock this product and you can mill it down to size,

worst case it if is made of metal is it will tear the floor where it mounts... that would not be good.

cheers
Eggy
