It won't work, as in some states there is say only a bp refinery, and each company buys the raw fuel and add their bit to it, eg optimax/ultimate. Also some of the smaller servos still buy from the larger companies. So whats that gonna do??? Really if you wanna hurt the big companies everyone buy woolworths petrol, its crappy imported fuel from indonesia as far as im told, thatll hurt em good, oh and itll also hurt your car, but fuel will be cheaper... |

all ausy fuel comes from temor or however it is spelt. but while most the fuel coming from the same supplyer it will have an effect if it is not bought from bp. cause all the fuel going to the bp servos has a higher profit margin then the others. in theory it can work. |

I work in a servo, and i can guarentee that if BP dropped their prices, we would too. There are two BP's in our area and our fuel prices are fixed according to there's. Our policy is that we will either beat their price or at least match it. They are our major competitors so we try to make sure that we are cheaper than them by checking their prices every couple of hours.
Problem is though - and it's a sad fact, our fuel is absolute shite compared to theirs. |

I forgot to mention that we buy our fuel from caltex, all of it - ULP, LRP, PULP, Deisel but our gas is from Vitalgas.
So our PULP is exactly the same stuff out of the Caltex Vortex bowsers.
Funny thing is though, we have a Caltex literally around the corner from us, and yet we always sell their fuel for less than they do - sometimes at almost 10c cheaper!!! And we bought the stuff off them!?!?!?! Go Figure... |
