I posted recently about my RB gemini. Got the advanced vacuum fixed and the car tuned but after that it had no power at all. But just before I put $25 worth of petrol in it and its back to normal. Can anyone explain why this would happen?

fuel tends to lose its content of octane after a while if u havnt been running the car or isnt regularily topped up. my mate stuck behind a vs commadork in his corrola and the next week th commy left him for dead he didnt use the car between those to periods. so yeh get that into ya.

most likely you had water in your fuel tank and refueling helped get the water through the system

A nice and easy cheap way of getting water out of your fuel without draining the tank, is to chuck a bottle of metho in the fuel. Half a 1 litre bottle for half a tank and a full 1 litre for a full tank will fix the problem. The metho bassicaly evaporates the water and doesn't harm your fuel system.
