O.K, if dreams were free.......
Old School - Datto 1200 with a 400hp SR20DET, set-up for curcuit racing and drift action, and de-boosted to 300hp for the street, while still retaining a rego sticker (I would investigate using an S2000 4cyl engine with a Procharger hanging off the side pumping 500hp - but i haven't won lotto yet hehe). I wouldn't stop with it till i hit the low 12's or high 11's on the 1/4 mile.
New School - RPS13 180SX with strawberry face S15 front, RB25DET pumping 500hp in racing trim (boost & fuel) and 400hp on the street, also set-up for drift and curcuit action - the torque on that baby would be orgasm material due to the weight of the 180... I wouldn't stop with it till i hit the 10's on the 1/4 mile - then i'd try for a 9 just to be a smart-arse!

im helping my mate drop a Z18t in his 1200 ute itll be done in a few days, just got the axle back (shortened skyline with lsd) and gota exhaust yet too Smile

my stock 1200 ute with the lame ass A10 (1 litre) engine
absolutly shrashes the pants off my gemi(weber and 2"exhaust).

putting a CA18det in it around august
VN rear axel and diff
dr30 5 speed
15" 225 tyres on roh rims
s15 turbo
turbosmart type 3

should be doing 12 sec passes with stock computer

all this for under $4,500
like to see my gemi do that for that price!

use a rbXX gear box, heaps stronger. and if your gonna be runing 12's u will blow dr30 boxes all the time.

dr30 box(stumpy 5 speed) is the only one that will fit.

i would use a s15 box but it be in the tray.

i got all my quotes and added up to $3,750

so i allowed $4,500 for fuck ups and shit like that.

wouldnt it be an A12 seeing as how it is a 1200 and datsun seem to have loved naming there cars after their engine size.

on a more seriouse note yeah the 1200 utes r sweet the ra22s rip so do escorts i was considering escort and celica if i couldnt find a gem
but yeah fate has it i got gem and i wouldnt buy a new car
