Power without losing torque??

hey all
been thinkin what i should do to get a bit more go out of my gem. I thought about lumpy cams, lightened flywheels etc, but i was told these will give more power but torque will be reduced. I've got a tf with 5spd g200, weber & xtracts and i LIKE having torque. so what can i do 2 increase both? bigger valves? porting? raising compression?

More compression, lengthen the secondries on your extractors, flow your head a bit

For Gene who answered Turbo: DING_DONG! Supercharger will give you much more torque than turbo!

Everything you do to increase power is actually increasing torque, but it is usually increasing the rpm at which that higher torque occurs.

I think what you are really asking is how can I increase high rpm torque, whilst retaining low rpm torque. There are not a lot of answers.

Things like bigger cams, valves, ports etc increase higher rpm torque when there is more airflow, but reduce low rpm torque due to lower air speed.

A good exhaust system should help throughout the rev range, as would a good flowing air cleaner, inlet manifold and carb/Throttle body system.

The only other things i can think of is increased cylinder pressure, like and increase in compression or forced induction. Both of these will increase power from idle (in the case of higher compression) and from when boost starts (in the case of forced induction).
