Ok, if you've read the about 5 posts down, you would know that I was going to swap my motor for a G180 today. Well I did, and now the bloody thing won't start! There is spark to all plugs, fuel in the carby and all that but it won't bloody start.
I think I have narrowed the prob down to the carby. My wagon used to be an auto, so the wiring loom doesn't support the extra things on the manual carby. This hasnt been a prob till now 'cause I just used the auto carb (it was in better nick). I know the carb has a idle shutout solenoid or something like that which shuts off fuel when there's no power. I attached a wire straight from this to the battery but it still didn't work. COuld it also be the coasting enricher thing? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Cheers

When I put the new engine in I didn't disturb the dizzy, so timing should be fine (and how can you check it when the engine doesn't run?).
I'm pretty sure its fuel, as it does spark and the fact that I can't smell any fuel around the back of the car after alot of cranking. The carby has wires on it that I can't quite work out what their for. I think I've found the one for teh idle cut out solenoid, but that does't help it start. I assume the others are for things like the coasting enricher solendoid. If it doesn't get a signal, could it restrict teh fuel flow? This is really starting to piss me off. I want to drive with more power!
Cheers

Thanks for the input all, its going now (well, was). Before I even got out of bed on Sat he'd fiddeled with the ignition, and I hooked up power to part of the carby. Now its the excessive blow-by and getting the tappet cover to seal to fix.
Cheers
