Is the head stuffed???

The head on my TG gem is leaking coolant around the outside cos theres pink/red burnt coolant on the sides of the block.
Dad and i changed it bout 6 months ago for a better 1600 head as the old one was pouring coolant out the side when it got hot. The replacement was a stock but reco and new gasket. When we retensioned the head we slightly overtensioned it to try and get rid of the tiny leak. It worked a bit but still leaks. Is the head warped???? Thats my totally uneducated guess Smile

did u use any head gasket sealant?

try replacing the gasket again and use selant.....see how that goes..if it does not work i think it would be warped....... my uncle can shave the head if its warped for $30....if u in adelaide

or it might have gone soft like mine did. if its been overheated a couple of times they sometimes get soft and they will just keep blowing like a $2 whore

Yep just some of that gasket goo stuff
I think it was overheated by the person we bought it off. They thougth it was a cracked head but it was only the gasket. I dont think it has gone soft. The whole thing was cleaned and all the valve seats and other stuff was done by our mechanic friend so i dont think he would have bothered if it was stuffed.
