Whys it doin that?

ok apart from overheating - Mooch, although a water pump could be answer, for now its not coz when i put the new pump on it still ran hot.

But now when i start it it runs on 3 cylinders until i rev it around 3 grand or so, then it kicks in...how come??

My gemi did that for a bit...it ran soooooo shit until u pumped it and got it going......check all of your ignition system...replace all..point's...condenser....coil.....lead's....plug's......
everything...and see what comes out......it worked for me....also make sure your point's are set at the correct gap...

I'd say that whatever pot is'nt firing is filling with coolant when you shut it off, causing the plug to foul when you start it - until you rev the shit out of it and it burns the water and the plug fires again. Sounds like maybe a head gasket dude.

I'd say the cause of your overheating isnt in the head but now because it's got so hot too many times it's screwed another head again. Causing you to blow the head gasket. Thats why your cooling system is pressurising. Probably why your first head was stuffed.

If you're not careful you'll hydrolic it and really make a mess! If i was you i would just spend a grand on getn her recond or buy a recon donk. You'll save in the long run. Or just sell it and buy a barina maybe?

yeah i had the same problem wit my head. i got the motor fully reco and teh head shaved straight but it kept blowing hea gaskets becase the it had been overheated so many times the head gets softer and just keeps blowing em
