Anyone here knows what sort of 400m times a worked g161 gem could do? Power figures?
I've heard from my mates that a worked g161 goes really nice, yet none of them would tell me what sorta 1/4 times we're talking about here....so i was just wondering how good can it go. |

| Hot4s did a gemini engine rebuild in co-operation with sam's performance centre in padstow, at the beginning of the article they gave a 400 metre time for a gemini running standard block, crank and rods. I will have a dig through my collection later and see if I can find it for you. |

There is a Yellow coupe in the galleray that does 16.4
and aparently the CDT did the 1/4 in 16 flat ??? it had 90kw ??????
i found that on the net somewere ??????
0 - 90 in 8 sec ????

| I rang sams performance centre on (02) 97723105 and he said that the fastest they got their gemini down the quarter using G161 block/crank/rods was 12.6 seconds. |

BIG thanx for the info.
I'm still unsure what to buy as my first car, my budget is about $3000 and right now it's down to a gemini or a vc-vh commodore. Anyone has any pros and cons? (besides the obvious - fuel economy, size etc.) |

is what they did stock standard, as tested by wheels magazine in 1980
as a decent exhaust, good carby, brings it into the 16s
