tacho instalation help

ok i found this small tacho and i want to put in into my car
there is 3 wires coming from it a red green and a black
i was want to know where they go to?

if its the same as mine red is power black is earth and green goes to the negative side of the coil. If there is another wire it is for the light in the tacho which you connect to the dash light wiring.

yep thats spot on the lights are normally associated with a white wire but you dont have that.

yeah i got a light but its like sepearate wires at the back and i knew where they went one is white witha green strip and the other black but they are simple

for early dashes coil negative is extended to the dashboard via black/red wire. You can connect on at dash with a round crimp connector or splice in at chassis connectors which saves running extra wires through engine bay..
Later models should be similar for jap factory tacho dashes..
