that would cost a fortune mate. why dont you get an engine thats already turbo'd. yes you would need all four to disc brakes. its possible to fit nearly any engine into a gemi. its just a matter of how much work and money you want to spend.

u will get more bang for your buck wuth a sr20.
if u were to go a turbo 6, get a rb25 as they are beastyer and shorter than the rb20.
and any of the rb's u will have to cut the fire wall

i was reading through an old magazine and i came across some practical engine transplants. they name the normal ones like sr20det, fj20det, rb30 etc etc but what caught my attention was the vg30det. They say its cheaper that some of the conversions plus it has a stock rating of 190kw and 240 kw is an easy turn of the boost adjuster away. Being a v6, would the firewall have to be modified? i might consider it because it seems cheap, pretty powerful and probably sounds good too. Although its a v6 and it might be heavier would anyone recommend this?

Not quite. It is posible to sit it far enough forward that the fire wall wont need to cut. The is a speedway gemini in sydney, parramatta speedway club I think, that has a rb20 turbo. Nothing done to the fire wall and the front end hasnt been modified. The radiator is nearly in front of the rad. support though. Only thing changed was crossmember and some tricky custom mounts.

My point being, they can fit. Just.
Turbo 6's do sound damn good but nothing you'll get would be stronger than an FJ.

only problem is geting a 3liter turbo regoed/roadworthy without ALOT of troubles. got with the vg20et. its the same thing but 2 liter, and it will pass roadworthy pisseasy, there stock 175hp 2L v6 turbo
i was gonna do this instead of the fj20 but i could only find auto vg20et's so look around or maybe order one from the land of performance

ok, the only reason i was asking about a rb20 was bcoz i can get the engine for cheap, but i dont know about everything else, like gearbox and stuff like that, maybe il have a talk to the guy that owns/did the speedway gemini, as im in the parra area aswell...

the engineering and shit aint a problem because a family member can help me with all that crap. i will be fitting big brakes and all the obvious things. i will fit them all first before i go ahead with it so thats all good. As with the auto thing ya should be able to get pretty much bulletproof manuals for them for $500. All up the magazine said if i do the work myself i would be look in at around $5000 which i think is pretty good considering.
