i was told that you can lower your car by pressing your springs after heating them with an oxy torch. of course this will weaken them. some other bloke said that you can do it provided that you roll them in oil afterwards and this supposedly gives them their strength back again. is this complete and utter bullshit or can it be done? i know everyone will say "just cut em" but i am deliberatley doing my car up in such a way that absolutely nothing will be dodgy and will pass even the most thorough rego test. i really want to be able to say to the cops when they turn up. go on try and find sumthing, and that will really piss em off.
anyway thanks for any help cos i am sick of owning a four wheel drive gem.
baz

yeah get lowered springs.

What ur talking about is resetting the springs were they heat them and unwind them and then rewind them closer together to lower the car, This is wat kmac do and all spring manufactures do but the use electricty. the heat the spring by resistance heating and the unwind the spring and then rewind with the new amount of coils
The springs from this type of procedure i belive but i am not sure have the same strength as before
