yea, i have the same prob going from 1st about 3500 - 4000 going into 2nd, it doesn't crunch, but u can tell it doesn't go in smooth, u can feel something stopping it, and along with it a very quiet continually crunch until it goes in. it goes in fine if u double clutch, but i'm only learner, and haven't quite got it yet, i can do it, but can't be fukt. all the others go in fine no matter how fast u want to change, only 1st to 2nd does it. is this my syncro, or do all boxes do it?

Probably your syncro TG... mine sed to be smooth in all gear but then it started to get hard to go into second and then eventually third, I'm pretty sure its cause from all the drags n stuff... now I've got a leaking seal in the back of the gearbx and she's running less than half full I'd say, and nows it's just a pain to get into any gear hehe. but I got a 5spd going in on tuesday. |

Hey mate I was just told it would cost anything from $380
to $500 depending on what is wrong with it eg syncro's, bearings. Try phil Mcgrath's in Derwent Park he rebuilds gear boxes and diffs.
