Oil light stays comes on

Hey,
my oil light comes on when my car is stationary. Yes, there is plenty of oil. Anybody no what it is. Could it be the oil pump?

the oil light doesnt come on when you run out of oil. it comes on when you dont have oil pressure. so yeah it is no oil presure.

hmm does it do it on start up?
mine used when it started and stayed for a coupla seconds and then left. I also saw it come on the day i blew the oil seal on the oil filter. so it comes when there is no pressure and no oil too

The little oil pressure switch on the side of the engine can fail quite easily. They are about $10 or so, so try replacing that first, cos 9 times out of 10 thats what it will be. If it had no oil pressure, you would here it. It would sound like a diesel........

I still have nightmares of the sound my engine made when it spat the oil pressure relief valve out... sounded like a rallycar (no floor sound deadener) hitting a patch of gravel at full noise...
