Has anyone snapped a pressure plate bolt and had to remove it?
I didnt even get to 18Nm and the bolt failed (must have had a stress in it).

So I need to remove it now. Any ideas as to the best way to remove. Drilling a hole through the centre is quite hard as the bolt broke on some weird angles. Any suggestions?

cheers

I have broken many over the years and all I have done is pull the pressure plate off and undo it with a pair of pilers, If it went in easy you should be able to get it out that way. When the bolts break they loose the tension - good luck

Only problem was that mine broke off about 3-4mm below the surface. I ended up taking off the flywheel, using a drill press to drill through the middle, screwing a screw in till is got stuck and then clucking a hand drill in reverse.
It worked, but then as usual the box just wouldnt go on either. Kept getting stuck about where the input goes into the spigot.
Fun, fun, fun!
