Some posted something a while ago about putting a starter relay in their TC which connects the battery directly to the starter motor. Where do the bits to do this come from?

some of the TX an TC gems had bad wiring(20 odd years u would too!) and the starter gets affected. you need a relay positioned close to the starter motor. use the original starter start wire to actuate the relay , which should be running a decent size wire from the battery.that should get you out of trouble. hope thats a help to you! Yeah thanks. Just lookin at my jaycar catalogue, relays are cheap as chips. If it works, it'll he heaps cheaper than a new starter motor.

If the problem is the wiring, then a new starter motor wont make any difference. The relay might help, prsuming the original crank wire going to the solenoid has enough voltage to trip the relay.
