I have come to understand that window rubbers are #$%^in expensive !

I will prolly need to replace my window seals at sometime as they are like 30 years old and a little worse for wear.

Now I've heard them costing like $70 each or something. What I am talking about here is the rubber seals on top of the door that keep the water out from the window when you wind it up and down. Is it these that cost $70 ? or is that the price for the ones inside the door (the tracks the the window is on).

Surely it must be possible to just buy some for a late model car and modify them with a bit of stanley knife action to make them fit.

the newer the car the MORE expencinve!! $70 is average price, that would be for the door windows its self. the track ones inside the door arnt not to pricy like $5 a meter

Couldn't u just go to a wrecker and rip some off a wrecked late model car and modify them a bit to fit your gem.

The wreckers wouldn't charge much for a bit of rubber would they ?

Just get a whole gemini for $50 and use it for spares... easy done
