I think everyone knows about the guy with the VL twin turbo 308 with nos said that he can do low 10s high 9s but is it just me or my lack of knowledge in this area (being a beginner when it comes to the mechanics of a car) but does the times quoted seem a bit poor for a car with this much power. Just interested to see if this is pretty reasonable or if the dude has been watching fast and the furious to many times and pulled the numbers from there.

In the world of quater mile racing, your suspension set-up has just as much importance to that of curcuit racing (well sort of). A street car on proper drag suspension and slicks will net close to a full second or there-abouts quicker 1/4 than one with a pure street suspension set-up. A good example is Todd Wilkes (R.I.P THE JUDGE), he had around the same horsepower as Craig Thompson (drag champion). But Craig's car ran close to one and a half sec's quicker due to professional drag suspension, slicks and chassis work.
Another factor can be the driver themselves, a good driver will always out-run a wanna-be in the same car due to experience behind the wheel - regardless of whether it's in a straight line or around a track/street.
Summary - depends how the car is set-up to put power to the ground, and if it has a good driver at the wheel.

In case anyone cares, a VL V8 is a 304, not 308. If you had a car like that you would know that. He obviously is just stirring and talking out of his ass.
