Hey guys and gals...
My car is hammered basically.
For now im a pizza boy and every night or day after work, i have to keep filling the radiator to the top. Because by the ned of the night or day it is bone dry (under the bars)
It takes just about a whole 2 litres to fil it back up and the thing that really gets me is that the water that is lost doesnt come out of the overflow.
SO WHERE THE HELL IS IT GOING>???
Im getting so pissed at how it just disappears and dont wanna come back.
Is it worth a pressure test on radiator (it wouldnt hurt) or what? Its just stock 1600 with extractors.
Please help |

IF you are running the engine, and water level drops, and no puddles are visible on the floor from leaks, then the engine is eating the water, and shitting it out the exhaust. Run the engine, and put your hand over the exhaust. Moist after a few seconds? You got head gasket probs.
Off with his head!
Dont cry over spilt water. |

It's your head gasket - but don't freak - get yourself a new one and follow the workshop article on "changing your head gasket" - man it's easy as! If you start tonight, get your head machined 2morrow and put it back together 2morrow arvo you'll be schweet for work 2morrow night!
Don't drive it round or you may do more damage when your oil and water mix together. |
