yeah...

How can i check if the distributor vacuum advance actuator is functioning properly ? I'm pretty sure the advance isn't working anymore cause when you disconnect the vacuum tube running from carby to the actuator and take it for a drive... it makes no difference whats so ever! The car is very boggy on accelleration and you really have to play with it before you can get any sort of response.

The other thing is how do u go about setting up an electronic ignition. Some people have said in the forum that camira ?? elec ignitions can be adapted to suit the gem. Another 'myth' is that an elec ignition conversin kit is available. Is there a kit available somewhere?? Otherwise i'll just dodgy something up from raiding the wreckers...

Maybe something could be put in the Workshop about electronic ignition set-ups on geminis.

Do a search. I, and others covered that a few weeks ago.

To check if vacuum advance is working, hook up a timing light, and then disconnect and reconnect the vacuum line to the canister. The timing should advance 10-20 degrees at idle when connected.

Stock electronic dizzies from rodeos/jackaroos can be bought from commercial vehicle wreckers and installed.\
