lots of ppl have different ideas
lot of ppl like tds
lot of ppl like te,tf,tg
tf,tg is harder to find so slight rarety factor
gypsy is even harder so again rarety factor
td's are the only early model style van/wagon so thats y they are popular
its really personal choice, tf/tg might have a tiny bit more features. |

well the later ones have better features but i guess all in all they all are as reliable as each other. (too many alls)
reliability will depend on how the last driver used it.
granny drivers are the best cause they obviously never rev the fuck out of the engine but good luck finding a granny driven panno, ive seen a few granpa driven wagons though
cheers

all 6 Gem RWD models are basically (and I use that in a broad sense), the same. sure you have brake, diff, dash, front end, sway bar changes , and prob a few more I cant think of now, but they are only minor differences. Considering how you can interchange almost everything, buy whatever suits your taste.
The only worhtwhile difference I can think of the the plastic inserts in the wheelwells of the TF/TG. These models generally dont have much rust on the lower mudguard section after the wheel, In fact they'd have less rust in the front end where it mates with the firewall, because the dirt being thrown up in the earlier models gets up into places and really causes major rust there. |

Yes that and the deletion of the outer grills on the scuttle panel seems also to help. earlier models pre TE had grills right over top of the boots for the harness and was a good entry point for water leading to buggered floor pans. The later models also had better drainage on the reinforcing box section at the back of the firewall. Post TD I think you'll do better in terms of rust.
My personal favourite though is the RB. What a lovely car! If I can ever get rid of mine that's what I'm going to buy. |

ICYDK, this site has a search function (above) that's good for this sort of stuff.
