i got one of those brown dashes in my tf. i want to go black. i have a new black top piece. what do i need to do to the bottom bit? |

Get some vinyl spray, clean it up a bit and spray it black.
I had the same problem, gave it a few coats of spray and now looks sweet. As long as the undersurface is clean and tidy the paint should hold fine. |

Yes vinyl spray will work but it tends to rub off after a while. You may want to consider getting just ordinary car touch up paint and using it. It will need to be used with a plastic primer and if you want it to last a long time use a clear coat on top.
P.S. this is only for the plastic parts this will not work on vinyl.

I find that vinyl spray is ok for my dash since I've not really going to be touching it a whole lot. I gave it a fair few coats and it seems to stay on ok.
Yes, however the previous owner put vinyl spray on the door handles and a tiny amount had rubbed off over time |
