I tried a bunch of heat resistant paints, all of which failed miserably and looked crap after a week or so of spirited driving. I settled on JetHot coating and have never looked back. It is expensive though Sad

What was the wallet damage on the coating ? Did you get the chrome look finish, or black, or another color ?
And did you notice any difference in lower under bonnet temps etc.

The damage was about $150 from memory (don't quote me Wink to get en existing set coated. You can purchase extractors through them, pre-coated, which I think are Genie. The website reveals all, but for the money I spent, I don't regret.

I got the chrome look, which really isn't chrome, but I reckon it looks much better. It kind of looks like molten metal, kinda Terminator 2 like Smile

The underbonnet temperature is lower, and my engine does run extremely cool for what it is, it is hard to say by how much, but 5-10 degrees under bonnet once I pull up would be an easy guess. You can touch the pipes after 15 minutes.

Performance is even harder to guess, seeing as I had a round of mods made at the same time. I would guess they flow a bit better, but how much would be academic anyways.

The finish hasn't discoloured, faded, chipped, stained or otherwise in the month or so I have had them done, which can't be said for spray on crap Smile

I spotted a set of extractors on a HX 308 down the street recently which had been done in black, looked very sweet, but suited his engine bay because it was all black anyways.

Cheers
