OK Im from canberra and I went on a 3day trip down the south coast. all was fine untill my drive home, I was coming back to canberra through cooma and I was sitting on 100 with a car about 2meters ahead of me. A cop car on the other side of the road goes past and flashes his headlights then all of a suden hes tailing me, he pulls me over fines me for doing 113kmh although I had 2 people in the car that are witness' to say that I was doing a 100, I was tailing this car for about 15k's at 100 if I was going faster I would have crashed into it and if it was speeding he would have pulled them over aswell. Ok so im being fined for that, and he goes off to the car for awhile and then comes back and says the car isnt registerd, and I say yes it is I paid for it myself, a mate in the car says he did because he was with me, he asks for the rego papers from the glovebox, I dont keep mine in my glovebox so he was all like "stop playing silly buggers, im impounding the car!!!" yelling all this crap at me neways I got on the phone to my sister for her to get me my receipt number she found 1 but it was the wrong one. he starts doing some more shit in his car and comes back and says He will give me the benifet of the doubt (he prolly found that my car was registerd and felt like a fool).
my mate even said to the copper "how come u didnt pull the car infront of us over? *silence* yea thatd be right he had NSW plates didnt he!"
copper says "WHAT DID U JUST SAY???
my mate shakes his head and gets in the car.
so anyways If I wanna apeal the fine I have to goto court which is fucked itll be cheaper just to pay the fine, gay laws very gay indeed. |

silialre thing happened to ma.
doing 80 in an 80 zone and a guy races up my ass and overtakes and flys of up the road. then gets pulled over buy coppers on the side of th road. i get pulled over to and the copper uses the same reading on the same gun to book both of us!! 111km/h in and 80zone!! i was like "what the fuck!" anyways i wrote a complaint and the matter is being "investigated"
i wil win cos a cop with a radar gun can only pull over and book one person at a time ( rang polic to conferm)

Just a question....what the fuck were you doing tailgating someone only TWO metres behind them, at 100k's???? Where's your brains?...It's a shame he didn't take your license off you....It's not like you were going to overtake him or anything, you said that you were doing it for 15k's....Perhaps the driver in front called the cops on their mobile to say that some dickhead is sitting 2 metres behind them, and not overtaking??

Ill have to second that one fair enough cops can be devious wankers but thats a pretty dangerous distance at 100 clicks.
Youre lucky the guy infront didn't slam on the brakes and have your insurance pay for his repairs as its always your fault if you rear end someone.
+ they cant except your mates word. |

In Qld, its just court costs. I doubt that you will have to pay for the pigs wages for his time at court. If you have 2 passengers who will testify you were doing 100, then I'd suggest you have a good chance of getting off. I would appeal. IF your mates testify you were doing 100, piggy has to prove your speedo is defective.
I have appealed once myself, and although I didnt win, the Police prosecutor come up to me whilst the magistrate adjourned to deliberate, and he said to me he wasnt sure whether I would win or not. Ha ha! Loser!
The point is, unless you appeal, the pigs will continue to intimidate and abuse their powers. You owe it to yourself, and everyone, to appeal, and teach those assholes a lesson. even if you lose, piggy might think twice about being an arsehole next time. We should all appeal every time we are done wrong by, even if it costs you more.
Irrespective of what I and other people have said here, Id have a quick consultation with a lawyer first. It will only cost $40 or so, yours is a simple traffic matter. |
