Hey Adam/Joe, a while ago I posted a message about having mailing lists for each centre, here's the post again:
The forum is a great place to announce upcoming events, but my guess is a lot of people aren't frequent user and may miss events they're interested in. How about as part of signing up, you ask people if they want to be on a mailing list to receive event notices (mailing list for each major centre me guess). All emails would have to go to you for vetting and then distribution. Whatya think?

Also could you make "location" in the profile a mandatory field so we at least know which city people are in so every second post is not 'where are you?'

i too think this would be a terrific idea. and as for the thanks bit, ...um thanks! love your work - joe and adam, and everyone who uses it so regularly, to make it interesting enough for me to be excited about checking it out everyday. keep on truckin.

This idea touches on the parts for sale dilemma, where it is easy to lose a listing.
