I have searched round da archives but haven't found a clear answer as yet..
What is the difference between the Cortina 32/36 Weber DGV and DGAV????
Also which is best and easiest to fit to a 1600???
One last question is how much are they worth from a wrecker on average??
Thanx heaps

you just need to run some coolant through it. when it gets hot it stops "choking". on the escort it is setup for coolant to come out of the block via the inlet manifold, then into the choke, then to the heater and back to the water pump. you could try running the heater hose through the choke.
BTW you won't find many contina DGV's since they were only on Mk2 GT's (pretty rare). the 2L escorts came with the DGV first then the DGAV, and the 2L continas came with the DGAV (mk3 and 4). |

Just rip all the choke crap off. Will run a bit rough when its cold but if your like me i usually let my motor warm up for 5 mins before i drive it so its not really a problem. Will be less restrictive with out it and considering you would probably be doing most of your driving when the motors warm will be better in the long run. |

Does anyone know how the Weber DGV5A relates to these carbs? I'm running one on a G200, and its running way too rich using the standard 140/150 main jets. You can always smell the fuel while the engine is running (and no, theres no leaks, its coming from the carby) |

Yep - agreed Fastgem, take the choke blades and everything out. I also recommend doing Ben Wights manifold mod. |

Think yo would have to qualify that statement a bit, instead of just saying "is f*ucked" without a reason. IT goes quite well actually, just is chewing too much fuel at present. |
