Fuel Leak

Hi people,
l have a TE van that seems to leak fuel from the cap. l have replaced the cap with another l had, but still no dice. When l take the cap off, it appears that it is full of fuel (ie it has passed the relief valve)It then leaves a lovely brown stain on the paint work or leaks down past the seal and back into the cabin. Has any one encountered this before and if so, possible cures. Does the arrow on the fuel cap mean anything?

Any help would greatly appreciated

The arrow should point down when the cap is locked. There is a slot there, for condensation to accumulate and leave the cap. But not one bowser boy in Australia knows that.

Dont really know that much about the van tanks, but there are numerous breathers and such connected to them all. Are we talking large amounts of fuel? or just vapour that attracts dust? Its possible the tank is over full or one of the lines are blocked somewhere. Go through them all one by one and blow back down them to test. Make sure the supply and return lines are in good condition. Using any fuel additives?

Has the lip of the fuel tank spout been damaged? Only thing I can think of if the replacement cap does it too.

I think it may be a some-what dodgy filler lip, as with closer examination it looks as though someone may have forced the cap off at some time in the past.
