Was wondering if anyone could help me with how to give SS that higly polished look. I have sanded all scratches with fine garnet and steel wool. Any clues on how to get it shining??
cheers

Is SS stainless steel? Adam G. recommended Autosol to me and it is f**king brilliant stuff. I polished incrementally up to 1200 grit and then rubbed it with autosol (available from most car accessory shops)
Cheers

second that - AUTOSOL - there's no better stuff!
Use it sparingly for best results.

Got that right. I asked Elka to pick up some on one of her trips and she brings home a 1kg tin ;o) Of which I used about 1 tablespoonful to polish both my carbs. Hope it keeps:)

If you can get the bits off the car, and they are easy to handle, A buffing wheel which attaches to a bench grinder with some polishing paste (this is generally a bar of paste and comes in various grades) will give an excellent result. Then use the Autosol on it to keep it looking good.
It does get a bit hard when you try to do a bumper in a confined space, as it keeps banging on the wall........
