If you put an unmilled 1600 head on an undecked g200 block, you'll get around 10.0:1 compression. The block will handle it no worries.
The only down side is at that compression, you can have have pinging if you run it at high revs , unless you use high octane fuel. |

i thought you get a bit ove 11:1 with a 1600 head on a 2l block? at least that is what several of my friends got from theirs

| I explained in my post how the 10.0:1 compression was achieved. If they dont get the same, then they are doing something else like decking, milling, boring, using high compression pistons. |

You disagree with my compression ratio assessment earlier in this thread of 10:1 because 2 posters "thought" it should be over 11:1, now you say no he wont blow a head gasket because he will be under 10.5:1 !!!
