Stereo Question

Hey guys, My stereo always makes this hissing noise, and i have to turn it up to about vol 3 just to go over the annoying noise. And Vol 3 on my car is pretty loud. Does all gem's have this problem? or do i have a wiring prob? any help would be great, thanx.

shitty wiring or shitty components... take your pick...

could be alternator whine but i have NEVER experienced this in any of the cars i have put stereos in that i have wired properly.

make sure everything is insulated and grounded properly

damn it just do a search for stereo in the old forum.. there are threads 30 posts long on this...

bad eatrh or shit house cheap RCA cables, or u have mounded your amp to a metal surface *naughty!!*

I have an alpine head unit, and it sounds really good with that, but i tried to change it cuz the alpine unit doesn't play burnt cd's, and when i put another cd player in, it jsut had the weirdest noise to it, and when i started up my car, all the engine noise went straight through the subbies, which wasn't very nice. and the only way it sounded alrite was if i turned the equalizer off, and the subbies. and just had the 6x9's running
so i've givin up tryin to change the unit. just left the same alpine player in.
