gemwrk, as I said in my other post, there are no harnesses which meet Australian Standards, simply because the stds are for seat belts, and not harnesses. check my other post.

in the same way, I don't think rally seats comply with stds.
what are you planning to use them for??
if motorsport, then they should pass FIA or CAMS standards, and at least your personal stds ( as it is you who will be relying on them to save your skin).
I can't think of any other reason to use them except for pose value, which personally I disdain.

Standard AS 2596,E35,SFI 16.1-Safety harnesses/seats. Cams 2002 Manual of Motorsport. Dont waste my time with your bullshit.

ok my bad, misunderstood what you are on about: however

You will find it hard (impossible) to find harnesses which comply to AS 2596, since all harnesses are imported, and comply with ECE, FIA or SFI standards (also allowed or preferred by CAMS see MOMS pg 6-17)

for some info on trying to get AS harnesses. the writer quotes a price of $10000 to get AS 2596 harnesses made.

let me iterate - there are NO AS 2596 harnesses commercially available

I assume from you location, and that you asked for "rally seats" that you are competing in the Gemini rally series, up there in NSW. if so have fun. maybe we can swap notes, since I am rallying a gemini here in SA (although since I am in PRC, I have a lot more freedom, ie fuel injection etc)

the TRS harnesses I have for sale comply with ECE R-16 std and are fine for CAMS requirements (ie are from my rally car)

with regard to seats, the MOMS states no specific "standards" requirement for seats (See 6-7 sections 8 and 9) this means you can use the standard seats AS LONG AS there is no adjustment to the rake of the squab (tilt of seat back). I would suggest the use of an aftermarket seat with better support, better crash protection and slots for harnesses.
