I have "15x"6.5 ROH's with 195/50/15 kelly chargers on all four corners, this has been a pretty safe setup, with no modifications so far.

I would say that 7" is about the max you can go with the right offset on the wheel. This is my current wheel width on TD. I cant remember if I have ever seen a 7.5" wheel fitted without mods.

As far as diameter goes, well that depends on tyres and budget, if money is no option, I can see why you couldn't fit 23" rims and large rubber bands.

I'm also wondering what diametre wheels would be best, I'm hoping 16's with a lowish profile would fit.

As far as width? Well in Perth (WA) the widest a wheel can go (unless the manufacturer fitted a wider tyre as stock) is 7". Check with the transport authority in your state (they should have all the info on a web page) for the appropriate standards.

16x7 with 205/45/16 tyres will fit fine if the offset of the wheels is correct.
17x7 with 205/40/17 should also fit up nicely.

man to answer your question the bigger the rim the less problems ull have, i know it doesnt make sense but its the truith because the strut is on an angle, so if uve got 15" 195's with an average offset theyll rub on the strut without spacers. However 17" with 205's will fit ok because of the angle of the strut it clears. best way to find out is to go to bobjane or whoever and pretend to be loaded, your guaranteed theyll help u out!

Struts??? On a Gemini?? Maybe you're thinking of the shock absorbers.
13 X 7 with 205/60 13 with a small flare to the guards used to fit my old TC coupe, could sit on the bumpstops and turn lock to lock without touching, AND DID. Surprised)
Currently the 14 X 6's with 195/65 14 don't have the right offset on the racecar, hits the outside of the guard when it's straight! So it's out with the hammer and dolly... it comes down to the offset of the rim.

For those who know tyre sizes, saw a Gem P/van a few years ago that had 205/70-14 on the rear on Camira rims. That's right 70 series... looked like a Pro-stocker.

Yes he meant shocks, my 16x7's will rub on the shock when fully rebounded (suspension fully extended), whereas 17's would clear easily.
