From memory, the twin cams have a larger diameter clutch which may or may not be from a rodeo or jackaroo. They grip as well as a twin diaphragm clutch on their own though. They are not hard to find.

Excellent thanks michael (and tooleeda)!!

Is there any use in getting a heavier/stronger item put in while i am at it? the engine will be either going high compression for some more grunt or perhaps the turbo path, would the plates have to be custom made or are their other heviear duty items i can get to strngthen the clutch a little? (the cars done a hard 150000 on one clutch so it can't be too bad!)

I would say leave it standard for now, and IF it starts to slip after some engine work, just get something with a higher clamping force, wouldn't be hard. Most clutch slippage problems are from abuse rather than outright power, so I doubt you'll have any problems.

If you go with the twincam/rodeo clutch, it should be fine for a fairly powerful engine. Remember to get the flywheel machined out to the same diameter of your clutch.
