Just finished fitting a DGAV Weber to my stock 1600 p/van after reading mostly positive comments about them here. I'm impressed so far, altho at this stage it looks like needing a rejet or a tune or something to get things running smoother.
One prob I'm having, the carb's inlet fuel line is a very tight fit next to the thermostat housing, anyone else have this prob, and if so what's a good fix for it? |

Cut the inlet fitting a bit shorter (5mm - 10mm), and then flare the end a bit so as to emulate the barbed fitting you just cut off.
Its usually easier to fit the hose before fitting the carby to, or remove the top section of the carby, fit the hose, and then reassemble the carb.

| Got the same problem on my Rodeo work hack. If it's the 32/36 you've got, you'll see there's two outlets. One's got the hose barb, the other's blocked off. Some carbys had one or the other depending on application. Local carby guy said it would be easy to take out the barb from one side and plug the hole, then drill out the other inlet and install the barb. At the moment I've turned the carby round 180deg. Tight fit for the water heated choke though. |
