had a similar problem in my TX, someone with more experience may be able to better help you but im gonna have a shot cause i am bored...

its more lilkely that your clutch is on the way out and you'll eventually need a replacement (is it slipping at all wen you drop it hard?) it will help a bit if you adjust your clutch cable at the point where it comes out the firewall tightening the cable and then securing the nuts will help but i found the problem returned eventually.

If you have a gregories manual it has much more detail on how to do it

Open the bonnet and on the drivers side will be a cable coming out of the fire wall that goes under the car and attaches to the release leaver on the transmission. On this cable should be two nuts, one is for adjusting the cable, the other locks it in place and stops it from moving. Pull the cable towards the engine and there should be some slack, just tighten the nuts to take up the slack.
On the clutch pedal there will also be a switch that you can tighten up to take up the extra slack on the pedal.
