G'day all i just purchased a mint conditon Te Diesal , cant realy drive it yet , till my old man hands it over. I have heard cos there full of torque and the diff built like a brick shithouse , they can pull a pretty mean burnout within reason for a diesal? any info for me guys? How The hell can I get a diesal running faster? I dont want to depart with the diesal as of yet , cos im gettin diesal or nothing , would be shame to waste free fuel. someone told me twin turbo ($1500) or propane injection. any suggestions please?

Hmmm, I am thinking big bore, or stroker, turbos or supercharging and a close ratio gearbox so you can keep her below 4000-4500rpm and actually get somewhere.

It would be interesting to have the fastest diesel Gemini in the world. She would probably make a decent rally car!

If I were you, I'd be doing some hardcore research on the similarities between your diesel donk and others in the Isuzu range... the only ones that spring to mind immediately are the rodeo engines... mmm 2.8 litre turbo diesel...

My suggestion would be to drive the Diesel and use your savings to get a twin-cam or something. The DOHC engine, combined with the fully imported Japanese body shell would mean that you would end up with near-as-possible to a genuine Japanese import Gemini!!!! All you'd need are some different badges and the base model grille (as per all the Jap Geminis). Voila!
