i'm looking at putting a 5speed box in my car and was wondering what the difference is between fine and coarse spline's? is either one of them better? whats the difference?
any answers would be much appriciated...

The fine spline i think dont make any noise in reverse
or the gears in reverse are straight cut

The coarse spline boxes only fit coarse spline tailshafts, which are found in late TGs.
The fine spline boxes only fit fine spline tailshafts, which are found in TX-early TGs.
That's my understanding anyway - it's not worth changing over. |

I had to change mine becuase the speed had caorse splines and the 5 spd had fine splines
|
