2 WAYS TO GO ABOUT IT. YOU CAN EITHER USE A RATHER SHARP WOOD CHISEL AND A HAMMER - BY KNOCKING THE OFF FROM THE SIDE, AND GRINDING THE REMAINS OF THE SPOTWELD UNTIL YOU HAVE A SMOOTH SURFACE

OR,

GET YOURSELF THE APPROPRIATE SIZED DRILL BIT AND DRILL THE SPOTWELDS OUT. BUT THAT MEANS THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO FILL THE HOLES ONCE YOU ARE DONE. THE FIRST OPTION IS WHAT I DONE. AND IT WORKED A TREAT.

goto trade tools and buy a proper spot weld remover, it fits into your drill, and u can set the depth of the cut, it is like a really small hole saw, the beauty of this is u don't actually cut right through the second layer leaving less to fill! bout $50

i dont recomend the spot weld remover. i had one and it kept sliding around (even when i centre puched it)

i ended up using a hammer and chisel and tapped them off from the sides. it left the smallest piece of spot weld which i removed with an air-buff. no welding, no bog, no fuss

But i dont get what you are doing, explain, coz i like the idea of hidden wiring, much neater.
