Drive up to the pump, and lift the unleaded nozzle instead of the Loser Rotten Petroleum.

Go Optimax!!

Seriously, alloy head = hardened valve seats = unleaded, no problems.

Cheers, Yonnee.

Lead in the fuel acted as a lubricant, stops valve seat recession in cast iron heads.

Different Octane rating.

Supposed to run a catalytic converter in the exhaust system for unleaded.

The "Old" Super had a better octane rating than the new LRP shit, so it was much better on performance the unleaded stuff. But now, I wouldnt fill up on anything less than premium. Unless your in sydney though, then I wouldnt buy petrol at all. Running unleaded in a well tuned car is better for the environment anyway than super (without a cat i mean) was anyway. The environment suffers much more from the use of super than an unleaded car with no cat.

lrp has 98 octane
unleaded has 95-96 octane
so why down grade

all lrp is unleaded but with additives in it

The problem with fuels is you dont know how much ethanol has been added. Especially in sydney. So get optimax or ultimate 98 as they are both premium products, and the fuel companys dont need to tamper with them to make more money as its almost a specialist market for them anyway.
