G'day,
Could anyone please tell me the following specs for a TE.
Timing-- 5 degrees before TDC??
Gap for Pionts & Spark plugs?
And what Capacity the fuel tank is?

G'day
Ignition at idle speed it's 6 deg btdc
Contact breaker gap 0.4-0.5 mm
Spark Plug gap 0.66-0.76 mm
and the tank it's 55L
What model is your TE?
I've got a SL i've just bought a 2L and i'm doing this up. It should go pretty good since it's 25% more power then the stock 1600! But it should be more after the mods i'm doing to it! If you can find a 2L then i sugest that you get it. But watch out with little things you have to change like sump, oil pick up, etc!

Cheers mate,
It's a TE and I just bought it for my Girlfriend. My first 2 cars were Gems and I love them, but her car although it is perfect condition has got no guts at all!!
My last gem had Webber, Cam, extractors but even before that I'm sure it had a hell of a lot more pwer than this car! Maybe all of the rust in MY gem lightend it enough to improve power to wieght
